COMPASS OUTREACH

With Christ as our example of service, we seek to mobilize the gifts and talents that God has given us to serve others. Each one of us in our church family have walked a different road that led us to a relationship with God. Our individual stories can impact our community in powerful ways. We strive to share a piece of ourselves, filled with God's love, to those who may have never considered a relationship with God. Serving others is more than an event but a lifestyle we foster through our ministries that will utilize your gifts and passions for God's work.

1 Peter 4: 8-10 |   Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.  Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.  Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

 BRAXTON’S RELIEF MINISTRY

The loss of a child affects not only the family but everyone in their support system. It affects us emotionally and spiritually in many ways for years.

Our church family has experienced this pain and from this it has brought to our attention the need in our community to support these families. In honor of our babies Braxton Waitman and Braxton Wells and many other babies we have formed this relief to bring hope and show God's love to families during this time. We provide aid to families who have experienced the loss of a baby through miscarriage, pregnancy loss, or early infant death. We want to provide emotional and spiritual support through a community of families that are on this journey with grief together.

FRONTLINE MINISTRIES

Frontline Ministries shares biblical truths with those who have chosen to serve on the front lines. We provide opportunities for social connection for first responders and military service members through discipleship, bible studies, retreats, and family support. We seek to build a community that encourages spiritual growth by sharing the transforming power of Christ’s love.

HOPE MINISTRY

The mission of the Hope Ministry is to partner with local organizations to help neighbors experiencing homelessness and those living in poverty. Our focus is to share the love and blessings from God by helping to meet their needs and serve monthly with various opportunities. We create service opportunities that are suitable for the entire family and allow our church family to utilize their passions to impact others lives in the community.

Our main partner in this ministry is Moments of Hope Outreach. You can take a look at their page below.

 LAUREL MEADOW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Partnership with our local schools is a big way that we love our community. We have a great relationship with Laurel Meadow Elementary School and are available to assist them when needs within their school arise. We focus on helping with family needs, classroom needs and even try to support the teachers several times a year with treats of appreciation! This year we will be helping to support their 5k, this is a major fundraiser for their school. We will be cheering, volunteering and even participating in this event. We always need classroom readers too, contact us if you'd like to help volunteer to read to these little ones.

REFUGEE SUPPORT MINISTRY

Tens of thousands of refugees fled Afghanistan last year as the Taliban took control. Leaving behind loved ones and the only home they’ve ever known, they’ve come to the United States and stepped into a world alien to them. Many don’t know how to speak English, use technology, or navigate western culture at all. Overwhelmed and alone, they are brought to Richmond to be resettled into their new lives.

Compass Christian Church is partnering with a local refugee resettlement agency to sponsor some of these families and help them acclimate to their new lives. This organization helps these individuals & families achieve stability and equips them with the skills and guidance they need to begin their new lives in the United States. Our volunteers will work directly with the families to help them with things such as transportation to the grocery store, practicing English, preparing for job interviews, assisting with donations for furniture and household products, and so much more.

Let’s show the love of Christ to our new neighbors and welcome them to their new home.
